Graduations and
Holiday Schedule
Congrats to the latest graduated
students
Will Smith, Fernando Valdes, Steve Markus (we
wish you a speedy recovery), Ian Summit and
Scott Speroni to Blue Belt. Julia Garcia to
Orange and Adam Marlow, Chris Trevino, Emma
Smith and
Enrique Pasos to Yellow Belt.
Holiday Schedule
The school will be closed December 24, 25, 28
and 31, January 1, 2, 3 and 4. Classes resume
January 5, 2009 with a new schedule. We are
adding more Muay Thai classes as well as 3 new
classes. Cardio Combat Conditioning, Wrestling
and Yoga. The new schedule will be available
later this week.

The Cardio Combat Conditioning class will be
taught by my Conditioning Trainer Fabiano Brasil.
Fabiano has helped me as well as several other
professional fighters prepare for our fights. He
has worked as a conditioning trainer for the
last 19 years and conducts a well established
business in Dublin as a personal trainer. While
in Brazil, he wrote articles for Martial Arts
magazines, including Gracie Magazine on fitness
and nutrition. He also worked at the Olympic
Training Center in Colorado Springs with
wrestlers, judo fighters, and Olympic lifters.
In 1995, he prepared Dr. David Budnick to climb
Mt. Everest. Dr. Budnick is a Cardio -Pulmonary
specialist in Colorado Springs

New Yoga Classes
Also NEW, a type of Yoga called Vinyasana Yoga
will be taught next Tuesday, December 22 at
7:30pm FREE of charge. This class is also open
to anyone to try out. We will announce the
definite class hours next week.

Effective January 6th, 2009, each class will
also cost $15.
Year-end group
photo has been changed to at 2:15pm. We hope to
see all of you there!
Congrats to all
the Muay Thai students that competed this
weekend.
Raul Lucha, Jessica "Cheetos" Yeley, Johnathan
Larrea, John Kaanehe, Adam Dunkel, who
dismantled his opponent, Ian Summit, Juan Pena
and Jeff Maurer, who weren't able to compete but
were fundamental in their support to their
teammates. Everyone showed great techniques,
heart and respect. Thank you all for helping out
with your teammates, and also to those who came
to watch.
Classes in the new place start this Monday,
December 8th. The Grand Opening celebration
party is still set for this coming Saturday,
December 13! Bring all your friends and family!
Grand Opening
Celebration
The day has finally arrived! We are happy to
announce that our Grand Opening celebration will
take place on Saturday December 13th!
 The
new address is 3291 Walnut Blvd. Suite 140. The
new facility has 6000 + sq/ft filled with state
of the art equipment. There will be 2, 2100
sq/ft. mat areas, a custom boxing ring, 12 6'
hanging heavy bags, dressing rooms with lockers,
a shower room and a pro shop.
This is the perfect time to try out a class that
you have been thinking about but haven't made
the commitment yet. There will be food and soft
drinks for everyone.
On this day, we will be offering a kids class
for all ages starting at 10am. Local newspapers
will be there to cover the event as well.
Below is the schedule.
10-11am
Mat 1 - All ages Kids class and games. All
students can bring 1 friend each.
Mat 2 - Muay Thai class. We encourage all
parents interested in the Muay Thai class to try
it out for free from 10am to 11am. ($20 reg.)
11:15am
Raffle
11:30am
Year end team photo (all students please wear
Thai shorts or uniform)
12-2pm
Jiu-Jitsu & self defense seminar with Rodrigo
and Crosley Gracie. This seminar is open to
everyone (gi required) The cost is $30 and all
proceeds will be donated to the Pancreatic
Cancer Action Network.

Muay Thai Morning
Classes and new MMA Class!!
We are offering a 2-week trial for those
interested in MMA classes. The classes are
taught Wednesdays at 6pm. Some of the concepts
covered by Professor Crosley are: Striking,
Striking to takedowns, Countering takedowns and
The Clinch, Fighting from your back and more.
The full class curriculum is available at the
school for viewing. (non-students must call for
appointment)
Starting Monday, November 3rd, we will be
offering Muay Thai morning classes on Mondays
and Fridays at 10am. We hope to see you train
more often!!

the US Open tournament in Santa Cruz.

Brandon Yciamo (Stockton
Affiliate) - 1st Place white belt juvenile
Instructor Ryan Murphy won his first match in
the Brown Belt Open weight class convincingly,
but due to an error of the timer staff table,
got his victory taken away.
It is a shame and very unfortunate the way
tournament staff handled the situation. This
type of occurrence is a big disrespect towards
the competitors and their teams.
It's Official! - We are
Moving!
We are moving to 3291
Walnut Blvd suite 140 in the next few months.
This building is right in front of where we are
currently located. The Grand Opening date will
be announced soon.
The brand new facility will have over 6000
square feet of training space, changing rooms,
multiple restrooms with a shower, a boxing ring,
2 mat areas and state of the art equipment. We
will be expanding our class offerings, as well
as frequency. More information coming soon!

Belt!!
Our Muay Thai head
instructor has just been promoted to the rank of
Brown Belt in Jiu-Jitsu! Steph has also been
training and competing in grappling tournaments
since 2001. Congrats Steph, well deserved!

*3-time Gracie Open Champion ( 01, 02, 03)
*2-time Pan American Medalist ( 2004-Gold,
2003-Bronze)

Stockton - Grand Opening
We wanted to invite all of
the adult Jiu-Jitsu students to join us for the
Grand Opening of our first school affiliate
Saturday, September 13th at 11:30am, in
Stockton, Ca. Professor Crosley Gracie will be
personally teaching the class along with school
representatives Ernest Mello and Chuck Walker.

The tournament was a great success!
Congratulations to all competitors! All
of the CGJJA kids looked great and showed so much skill
and technical ability. It is very exciting to watch the
progress and sportsmanship of these athletes. We want to
thank all of the parents and families for being a part
of our first tournament, for believing and supporting

Classes
Beginning the week of July 28th we will offer

Women's Rape Prevention Program Starting! |
|
We
are starting a women's rape prevention program that will
consist of 12 classes, one per week for a total of 3
months. Ladies 15 and up welcome! We are currently
accepting registrations. The program start date will be
posted within the next week.
The classes will be taught every Wednesday from 6 to
7pm. Women will learn strategic grips and escape
techniques with no strain or body impact such as; escape
from front and rear chokes, defense against headlocks,
how to resist against being pulled or pushed, escape
from various bottom positions and much more.

First of all, we'd like to
congratulate Jimmy Wisecarver, James Call and Frank Yuen for
receiving their blue belts last week.
Don't forget that this coming Saturday, the 29th, we will be
having the School's End-Of-Year BBQ Party. Call us to find
out details and to get directions if you haven't been
around.
For the NYE Holiday, the school will be closed Monday 31st
and Tuesday, the 1st. Classes will resume Wednesday.
*Rodrigo Gracie's Seminar has also just been scheduled for
Saturday January 12th, 2008 @ 11:30am. Don't miss out on the
opportunity. Rodrigo is a 4 -time Pride FC winner and the
